June marks the first official month of summer and presents an opportunity to reset and start fresh. Effective communication is key in restoring ourselves and reconnecting with our culture and heritage. This month, we celebrate Juneteenth, a holiday that commemorates the emancipation of African American enslaved people in the United States. It's a time to remember our ancestors' struggle for freedom and reflect on what true liberation means for us in this day and age. June also serves as Black Music Month, where we celebrate the contributions of black musicians to the art form. Caribbean Heritage Month is another opportunity for us to reconnect with our roots and celebrate the rich culture of the Caribbean community. Through these celebrations, we can restore ourselves and tap into the strength and resilience that our culture and heritage give us.Happy June!
