PARENTAL WELLBEING: supporting moms with children with special education services

  • Our group sessions are data driven and parent centered. We offer sessions that are timely, relatable and focused on the mom and women that are participating. We offer several topics related to parenting and parent wellness. Our aim is to provide a space for black moms and parents to be heard, feel safe and rejuvenated.

  • Individual coaching sessions focus on your individualized needs and goals for your personal development. Group sessions focus on specific topics related that are targeted to a wider audience.

  • Yes! We encourage our moms to have access to the entire BMS Experience! If you are interested in this, we can create a customizable package for you.

  • Yes! All In Person BMS Events will adhere to COVID-19 procedures.

  • Terms and Conditions for Black Mom Society Group Sessions

    1. Purpose and Scope The group sessions offered by Black Mom Society are designed to provide support, empowerment, and guidance tailored to the needs of moms. These sessions are intended for personal development and community building and are not a substitute for professional medical or intensive therapeutic services.

    2. Registration and Payment

    • Registration: Participants must complete the registration process and provide necessary information before attending the group sessions.

    • Payment: Payment for the group sessions is required prior to or at the time of registration. Accepted payment methods include Visa, Mastercard, Square and Cash (in person events only). Registration may be canceled if payment is not completed.

    3. Cancellations and Refunds

    • Cancellation Policy: Participants may cancel their registration up to 3 days before the session start date to receive a full refund. Cancellations made less than 3 days before the session start date are non-refundable.

    • If there is an emergency please contact us immediately to discuss refund and/or makeup sessions.

    • Refund Policy: Refunds will be processed to the original payment method and may take 5 business days to complete. If a session is canceled by Black Mom Society, participants will be offered a reschedule or a full refund.

    4. Confidentiality

    • Privacy: All information shared during group sessions is confidential and will not be disclosed to third parties without explicit consent, except as required by law.

    • Confidentiality and Mandatory Reporting Policy

      As a mental health professional, maintaining confidentiality is a cornerstone of our practice. However, there are specific legal and ethical obligations that require us to report certain situations to ensure safety and compliance with the law. Please be aware of the following:

      1. Duty to Report:

      Intent to Harm: If a client expresses a clear intent to harm themselves or others, or if there is reasonable suspicion that a client is at imminent risk of self-harm or harm to others, we are legally and ethically obligated to take action to prevent such harm.

      Mandatory Reporting: In such cases, we are required by law to report the information to appropriate authorities, which may include emergency services, law enforcement, or other relevant agencies.

      2. Limits of Confidentiality:

      Safety Concerns: Confidentiality is maintained in all aspects of our sessions except where there is a concern for safety. This includes, but is not limited to, situations where there is a risk of imminent harm to oneself or others.

      Legal Requirements: In compliance with state and federal laws, we may also be required to report instances of abuse, neglect, or other situations where there is a legal obligation to disclose information.

      3. Action Steps:

      Emergency Response: If there is an immediate threat, we will contact emergency services or law enforcement as necessary to ensure safety.

      Follow-Up: We will also inform the client about the steps being taken and work collaboratively to address the concerns and provide support.

    • Respect for Privacy: Participants should respect the privacy of other group members and avoid sharing personal information outside of the group.

    5. Attendance

    • Punctuality: Participants are expected to arrive on time for each session. Late arrivals may disrupt the group and impact the session's effectiveness.

    • Absences: Participants are responsible for notifying Black Mom Society of any absences in advance. Make-up sessions are not guaranteed.

    6. Code of Conduct

    • Respectful Interaction: Participants are expected to engage respectfully and professionally during sessions. Disruptive behavior, harassment, or discrimination will not be tolerated.

    • Participation: Active participation is encouraged, but participants are not required to share personal information if they are uncomfortable.

    7. Limitation of Liability Black Mom Society and its facilitators are not liable for any direct or indirect damages resulting from participation in group sessions. The guidance and support provided are based on general knowledge and experience and do not guarantee specific outcomes.

    8. Changes to Terms Black Mom Society reserves the right to modify these terms and conditions at any time. Participants will be notified of any significant changes.
